Malachite is a soft stone, to ensure it lasts do not wear in chlorine, ocean water, spray with fragrance, or be left with chemical residue from lotions, cleaning chemicals or other harsh conditions. While it will not disintegrate, it can overtime cause splotches, uneven coloring, dullness and potential cracking.
